Watchdog: Virgin Megastore Dundrum

Well all that is immaterial when they are selling some of the most unnecessarily overpriced dvd's i've ever seen!




Cliffhanger €35 and Dawn of the Dead (Remake) €43

Whilst i will always defend these films, lets be honest, they aren't Citizen Kane. Not that i have or want to watch Citizen Kane but it is something i would expect would to have fork out considerably for.

Whilst it can be argued anyone could find one or two unjustifiably expensive items in any shop, What are the odd's they 2 most expensive things, i saw that day, would be the very dvd's i craved?

There has to be more undeniable rip off's in the place! I had a voucher for €26 and could find nothing of value! In HMV great dvd's are going for only €5. How can Virgin/Zavvi justify this??

I went to amazon.co.uk the next day and got for less than Zavvi's valuation of Cliffhanger:

Speed
Die Hard 2
Die Hard with a Vengeance (2 Disc Special Edition)
and of course Cliffhanger!

all for the sum of €31!

Perhaps they had to stop calling it Virgin because they couldn't keep that name while trying to fuck people in the ass!

TANGENT ALERT!!!

Whilst in town though i did manage to find Die Hard on Dvd for only €5! Happy days!

Whilst Bruce Willis is the obvious reason the Die Hard Series is so well respected let us not forget the Movie Icon that is Hans Gruber played by Alan Rickman. He is responsible for one of the most repeated quotes between myself and Hunter, the timeless "Now I have a machine gun, ho ho ho..."

I cannot wait to show Halley one of the greatest movies of all time. (I may or may not have dragged her to tesco at 00.30 on the hunch that they might have it after seeing him in Love Actually!)
